How to Prepare for the Tour of France Quilt-Along

I thought before we start the Tour of France Quilt-Along, I would give a few suggestions on how to prepare for this big race!

  1. Learn about the Tour de France.

If you are not already a cycling fan, then you might not know much about the Tour de France. You can watch the Netflix series Unchained. Or you can watch this short video explaining the Tour de France: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15nrm4LLERA.

Go to the Tour de France website and check out all the stages, the teams, and there is even a Fantasy game you can play. Website: https://www.letour.fr/en

  1. Decide How You Want to Make Your Quilt

You can make this quilt several different ways. You can add things on to a whole quilt top.  You can make 21 different blocks each day. Or you can quilt-as-you-go.

  1. Gather and Prepare Your Materials

Now that you decided what kind of quilt you want to make you can gather your materials and                prepare them if needed.

    Materials:

21 Pre-Cut Blocks and Batting for Quilt-As-You-Go

Fabric for 21 Blocks or A Whole Quilt Top

Suggested Colors: Yellow, Green, Red Polka-Dots, and Blue

Scissors

    Sewing Machine or Sewing Needles

    Thread

    Iron

    Rulers/Rotary Cutter

    Pins

Now, follow Sonya Luna Creative Studio on Instagram and Facebook during the days of June 29 to July 21, 2024 to get each prompt of the day. I will be posting the prompts at 7 am Eastern Time.

I look forward to seeing your progress along the way and your quilts at the end.
