April Quilt

I finished a small quilt in April. There is some history behind this quilt. I liked the quilt challenge so much that I did for the Quilting Season that I wanted to make up some challenges of my own. One of the challenges that I thought was to pick a fabric that you do not think is very pretty and than you make some pretty out of it. So, I didn't find a fabric, but I found squares that were already made. Here are some pictures of the squares. 

Thinking about these blocks, I wanted to tone down the busyness of them, so I add a solid. 

I had really wanted to try to do the Aztec Pattern, so I used that pattern to make the blocks.  

I then used a red fabric for the back and border. The quilt didn't turn out perfect, but I liked the challenge of trying a new block pattern, and transforming these busy blocks into something else!
