My Love of Quilting

My love of quilting started when I took a class at a local United Methodist Church for six Saturdays. The teacher taught us the basics of quilting, different types of blocks, and even paper-piecing. My first quilt I finished was a sampler quilt of all the different blocks we made in the class. As, I look at it now, I see that it is not perfect. I would have arranged the blocks in another way, and it is a little busy! Also, I have to work on bidding, and quilting.

But, after that class and finishing my first quilt, I fell in love with quilting. I bought books and magazines about quilting and I watched online classes and videos. I finished my second quilt for my son, a Thomas the Train Engine Quilt.
My third quilt, that I finished, was for a challenge at a local quilt store. We were given a fat quarter to work with and a magazine page as inspiration. I was inspired by all the flowers and each block represented one of the nine flowers.

I just love playing with the beautiful colors and patterns of fabric. I now have 7 to 9 quilts that I am working on in various stages.
So, to get started, I wanted to share with you a bit about how I fell in love with quilting.
In this blog, I will share with you  the different quilts that I make. I will share with you how I draw inspiration from my culture and other cultures. I will also provide you inspiration, as well, to create your own quilts. But, if you like my fabric creations, I will be setting up an Etsy Store in the Fall. Hope you will follow my blog and my love of quilting.
